We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our operations in Durham, North Carolina. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which is fundamental to our overall Logistics success. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing measures to improve inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical mindset, experience with inventory management systems, and a commitment to Safety and operational efficiency. Understanding of warehouse processes and adherence to company policies, including the proper use of PPE, are essential. This is a key position within our supply chain, ensuring smooth Logistics and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FEFO, FIFO) to minimize waste and obsolescence.
- Monitor inventory levels and generate reports for management.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to optimize accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and Logistics personnel to ensure proper handling of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area, adhering to Safety guidelines.
- Ensure all inventory-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software effectively.
- Assist in the training of new staff on inventory control procedures and Safety practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or Logistics environment.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (WMS experience preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve occasional Lifting of up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with Logistics processes.
- Willingness to wear required PPE as needed.
