We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. Operating various types of forklifts, you will load and unload trucks, move inventory to and from storage locations, and assist with order fulfillment. Your expertise in forklift operation and commitment to safety are essential. This logistics position requires a keen awareness of your surroundings, adherence to strict safety protocols, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We are looking for a skilled operator with a strong track record of safe operation and a dedication to maintaining a productive work environment. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods in our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move, stack, and unstack palletized goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Conduct pre-operation forklift inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Ensure correct placement and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free of obstructions.
- Adhere strictly to all PPE requirements for the role and the facility.
- Contribute to overall logistics efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment as directed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification and a proven safe driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Good communication skills.
