SAP SuccessFactors Payroll Lead (Manager)

The SAP SuccessFactors Payroll Lead (Manager) is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll and related HR/payroll solutions. This role manages payroll transformation projects, leads functional and technical teams, and ensures payroll processes are compliant, efficient, and aligned with business requirements.

The manager will collaborate with HR, finance, IT, and external partners to deliver scalable payroll solutions integrated with SAP SuccessFactors and SAP S/4HANA environments.

Key Responsibilities Payroll Solution Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.
  • Design and optimize global and local payroll processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance on payroll transformation and automation.
  • Ensure integration between Employee Central, time management, benefits, and finance systems.

Project & Team Management

  • Manage a team of payroll consultants, analysts, and developers.
  • Plan project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across HR, finance, and IT.
  • Ensure successful delivery of payroll implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.

System Configuration & Integration

  • Configure payroll schema, rules, wage types, and payroll controls.
  • Lead integration with:
  • Employee Central
  • Time Management
  • Third-party payroll providers
  • Finance systems such as SAP S/4HANA
  • Oversee data migration and payroll testing cycles.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure payroll solutions comply with local labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Implement payroll audit controls and governance frameworks.
  • Manage risk and compliance related to payroll processing.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to HR and finance leadership.
  • Translate business payroll requirements into system solutions.
  • Conduct workshops, requirement gathering, and solution design sessions.

Required Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, HR, Finance, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.

Experience

  • 8–12+ years of experience in SAP HCM / SuccessFactors Payroll.
  • At least 3–5 full lifecycle implementations of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll.
  • Experience leading payroll transformation or migration projects.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
  • SAP SuccessFactors
  • Employee Central Payroll
  • Payroll schemas, PCRs, and wage types
  • Payroll integration frameworks
  • SAP HR / Payroll configuration
  • Experience with integrations using SAP CPI / middleware.

Leadership Skills

  • Team leadership and mentoring.
  • Stakeholder and client management.
  • Project planning and delivery management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications

  • SAP Certified Application Associate – SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Certification
  • PMP / Agile certification (preferred)
