Hickory Dickory Decks is Canada's leading custom deck builder. We've built tens of thousands of high-end decks and outdoor structures since the late 80s. We are growing rapidly in HRM and need an experienced carpenter to be the lead on an array of awesome upcoming projects. We are seeking a dedicated, personable, skilled carpenter that takes great pride in his/her craft and is fully dedicated to customer satisfaction through a commitment to excellence and absolute attention to detail.

We are seeking a carpenter that ideally has at least 3-5 years experience with structural work. If you have history building custom decks, even better. Read seal certification is a bonus, but not a requirement. A positive attitude and exceptional skills are the top requirements.


Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine project specifications

- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge

- Cut and shape materials to fit specific measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws

- Assemble and fasten materials using nails, screws, staples, adhesives, and other fasteners

- Install structures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim

- Repair or remodel existing structures by replacing damaged parts or adding new ones

- Build concrete forms for pouring concrete

- Install drywall and plaster

- Perform water damage restoration


Requirements:

- Proven experience as a carpenter

- Proficient in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation

- Knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction

- Familiarity with hand tools, machines, measurement tools, and safety equipment

- Ability to read technical documents and drawings accurately

- Good communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively
