You will work as part of the maintenance team to ensure our shop remains safe, efficient, and powered up—managing everything from high-voltage building infrastructure to the complex 480V 3-phase systems that feed our production machinery.
*Reporting & Career Growth*
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. You will spend your initial tenure shadowing and working directly with our current Industrial Maintenance Electrician. MTM is seeking a dedicated individual who is interested in making a long-term career out of this position and growing within our organization.
*Core Responsibilities*
* System Installation: Layout and install electrical conduits, wiring, and fixtures for new fabrication equipment and workstations.
* Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in production machinery, including CNC machines, welders, overhead cranes, and hydraulic presses.
* Facility Maintenance: Provide electrical support and maintenance for facility HVAC systems and general building infrastructure.
* Control Systems: Read and interpret complex blueprints and electrical schematics to maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and motor control circuits.
* Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical components to prevent equipment failure.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets NEC standards and OSHA regulations, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
* Team Collaboration: Work alongside the fabrication and maintenance teams to modify equipment or assist team members in other areas as needed. At MTM, we operate as one team; helping others succeed is a core expectation.
*Required Skills & Qualifications*
* Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years as an electrician in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
* Tool Mastery: Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, conduit benders, and various hand/power tools.
* Knowledge: Deep understanding of 3-phase power systems (480V), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and industrial sensors.
* Soft Skills:
* Team-Oriented: A strong desire to collaborate and help out other team members where needed.
* Decision Making: Ability to remain calm under pressure and address maintenance challenges and emergencies.
* Self-Motivated: Excellent time management and the ability to multitask on numerous projects simultaneously.
* Bilingual: Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
*Schedule & Availability*
* Standard Hours: Minimum of five 8-hour work days per week.
* Overtime: Must be available for overtime as needed or requested to meet production goals.
* On-Call: Availability for on-call emergencies may be requested on rare occasions.
* Weekends: Minimal weekend availability is required.
*Physical Requirements*
* Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
* Comfortable working at heights (ladders/man-lifts) and in confined spaces.
* Ability to work in a high-activity fabrication shop environment (noise, heat, etc.).
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
