We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. The successful candidate will operate forklifts safely and effectively to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. Your primary focus will be on ensuring timely and accurate handling of products, contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations. We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to safety, excellent operational skills, and a good understanding of warehouse procedures. Experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse equipment is highly desirable. You will be responsible for maintaining the operational condition of forklifts and adhering to all safety regulations. This is a key position in our warehousing and logistics team. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, such as order picking and packing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure accurate documentation of material movements.
- Contribute to a safe and productive logistics operation.
Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrable experience. Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics setting. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Knowledge of logistics operations. A strong work ethic and commitment to teamwork. Reliability and punctuality are essential.
