We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics department in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately documented, processed, and dispatched efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying shipment details, and coordinating with carriers. A strong understanding of logistics procedures and a commitment to accuracy are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and manifests.
- Verify shipment contents against order details and shipping documents.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide status updates as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and customer service regarding shipping status.
- Ensure all shipping areas are organized and compliant with safety regulations.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that may involve occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
and Packing:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with office software.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
- Must be able to perform occasional lifting tasks.
- Commitment to workplace safety and understanding the importance of PPE.
This role is integral to our logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. We promote a safe working environment and require adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE. Experience with various shipping methods and logistics is beneficial.
