Join our vibrant logistics team in Richmond, Virginia, as a Shipping & Receiving Associate. This role is fundamental to our supply chain operations, ensuring that incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for managing inventory, preparing shipments, and maintaining organized records. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to customer requirements and carrier specifications.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Organize and maintain the shipping and receiving areas to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Perform tasks that may involve moderate lifting, up to 40 lbs.
- Support overall logistics operations to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring regular lifting and physical activity.
- Commitment to safety and following all safety guidelines, including PPE usage.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles is beneficial.
