Our rapidly expanding logistics center in Raleigh, North Carolina, is looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center. Your primary responsibility will be operating forklifts to load, unload, and move materials, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of tasks. We prioritize a safe working environment, and all team members are expected to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE. This position offers a great opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and inventory to designated areas.
- Perform pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, free from hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth operations and efficient logistics.
- Meet productivity targets while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Support receiving and shipping departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
