We are seeking a skilled and reliable Warehouse Technician to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all warehouse equipment and infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our logistics hub, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position demands a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and an unwavering commitment to Safety. You will work closely with the warehouse management team to uphold our high standards of operational excellence. Strict adherence to Safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE and safe Lifting practices, is expected.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on warehouse equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, palletizers, and automated systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of warehouse facilities and equipment to identify potential hazards.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with OSHA and company Safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and costs incurred.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Respond efficiently to emergency repair requests to minimize operational disruption.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies for the maintenance department.
- Promote and reinforce a strong Safety culture within the warehouse environment.
- Ensure that all personnel are using appropriate PPE and adhering to safe work practices.
- Support the Logistics department by ensuring equipment reliability and availability.
- Assist with material handling and occasional Lifting duties as needed.
- Provide basic training to warehouse staff on the operation and care of equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or degree in a relevant technical field is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, ideally within a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with warehouse automation and material handling equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including moderate Lifting and working in varied conditions.
- Understanding of core logistics processes.
