Our rapidly growing logistics company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage the movement of goods within our state-of-the-art warehouse. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials from receiving to shipping. Your primary responsibility will be to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload products. Adherence to strict Safety guidelines and proper use of PPE are non-negotiable. This position demands physical stamina and a keen eye for detail to prevent damage and ensure accuracy in all material handling tasks. You will be an integral part of our operations, contributing to the timely and secure delivery of our clients' products.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from various warehouse locations, including storage and production areas.
- Stage materials for shipping and receiving.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring compliance with Safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock put-away.
- Follow all instructions and procedures related to material handling and logistics.
- Wear all required PPE at all times while operating machinery.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of heavy items up to 75 lbs.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if needed.
- Proficiency in basic math and reading skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
