Job Summary
Responsible for the effective provisioning, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure, including, but not exclusive to the following systems: Cloud-hosted or vendor managed SaaS solutions, Windows Servers both physical and VMware virtual machines, Linux based servers both physical and virtual, Active Directory including group policy, ChromeOS and Chromebooks, Google Workspace, Video Surveillance and Access Control Systems. Ensures system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to District standards.
This position may allow for a hybrid remote work schedule (work from home for a portion of the workweek) within the state of Wisconsin.
The salary range is
$83,000 - 93,000
(12 months/260 days)

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Three years of experience in system administration, network administration and enterprise security management performing duties related to this position. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, interconnected systems and develop long-term architectural solutions. Preferred certifications include Google Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Cybersecurity credentials. Responsibilities
Lead the strategic migration of on-premise VMware and VxRail workloads to cloud-hosted environments (OCI, Azure, AWS) or vendor-managed SaaS solutions. Proactively research and deploy new cloud features and automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, or Google Apps Script) to eliminate manual tasks and increase efficiency. Act as the escalation point for complex system failures, focusing on identifying underlying architectural issues rather than temporary workarounds. Manage the full lifecycle of the Google Workspace/ChromeOS environment, including IAM integration and advanced security settings. Oversee enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM), ensuring seamless integration between local Active Directory and cloud environments. Continuously learn and adopt new systems, software, and technical responsibilities as the District's technology roadmap evolves. Independently lead technical projects from research and design through to implementation and documentation with minimal supervision. Perform daily monitoring, verify backups, and manage hardware/software lifecycles for both physical and virtual servers. Participate in technical communities (like the Google Technical Collaborative) to bring industry best practices back to the District. Configure and maintain server hardware, peripherals, storage, and Active Directory structures in accordance with District operational requirements Work as part of a collaborative team of administrators who backup and cover each other's areas of responsibility to ensure continuous service. Assist internal and external customers with the implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing support of systems and applications. Administer and support devices using the district mobile device management (MDM) platform. Supports classroom, desktop and Chromebook devices as needed in district offices and/or school buildings. Implement security measures for District systems, including networks, firewalls (such as Palo Alto), Active Directory, and various operating systems. Provide second-tier support for District account creation, directory services troubleshooting, and batch processing of user accounts from source systems. Upgrade administrative tools and utilities and configure or add new services as necessary to maintain system health. Review system and application logs daily to verify the successful completion of scheduled jobs, including backups. Participate in product research and development of emerging technologies that may be used to enhance or replace existing aging infrastructure. Performs regular file archival and purges as necessary. Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions. Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. Creates, verifies, and/or maintains documentation of assigned information systems including installation and configuration procedures. Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan. Participation in systems on-call rotation Completes other duties as assigned
