Job Description: Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Controls About the Role: Become an essential member of our innovative team, pushing the boundaries of vehicle technology. We are part of the Embedded Platform System & Infrastructure (EPSI) group, dedicated to defining and developing cutting-edge embedded controllers for vehicle mechatronics. In this role, you will focus on creating controls and diagnostic software for low voltage power generation, energy storage, power management, and distribution. We seek motivated and imaginative individuals who excel in embedded control innovations. In this impactful position, you will enhance existing strategies and devise novel solutions that are crucial to the entire General Motors vehicle lineup, ensuring our leadership in low voltage technologies. Key Responsibilities: Lead the creation and implementation of sophisticated low voltage control features using embedded C and C++, enhancing code effectiveness and security while addressing technical challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project deliverables and ensure exceptional quality outcomes. Support calibration processes and maintain compliance with safety standards and industry best practices. Engage closely with engineering teams to design, test, and integrate resilient control systems. Document and share key insights within the team and contribute to intellectual property documentation. Take part in program planning and iteration reviews to enhance team competencies through mentorship and training. Identify and pursue opportunities for process enhancements, leading initiatives that streamline workflows and drive strategic improvements. Your Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded controls engineering or software development. Proficient in C, C++, and Python with a solid grasp of embedded systems. Knowledge of SIL, HIL testing, and data analysis tools. Familiarity with Software Defined Vehicle architectures and control system theory. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to navigate complex problems effectively. Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects independently while showcasing innovative thought. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering with a focus on controls or software engineering. Extensive understanding of automotive low voltage systems. Evidence of patents or publications in relevant fields. Experience with safety-critical design processes.
