Our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, stacking, and retrieving inventory throughout the warehouse. Your expertise in operating various types of forklifts will be critical to maintaining the flow of goods and supporting our shipping and receiving operations. We prioritize a safe working environment above all else. All operators must adhere strictly to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and demonstrate a thorough understanding of forklift safety procedures. This role requires precision, a keen awareness of surroundings, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will play a vital role in our logistics chain, ensuring that materials are moved safely and efficiently to meet operational demands. Continuous training and safety refreshers are provided to ensure our team stays up-to-date with best practices. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move, stack, and organize inventory within the warehouse.
- Retrieve products for order fulfillment and staging.
- Perform routine pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations.
- Follow all logistics procedures to ensure timely and accurate material handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Properly wear and maintain all required PPE.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and forklift operation best practices.
- Knowledge of PPE requirements and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
