Are you organized and detail-oriented? We are looking for a dedicated Shipping Clerk to manage our outgoing shipments from our Des Moines, Iowa location. This role is crucial for ensuring that all orders are accurately processed, packed, and dispatched on time. You will be responsible for coordinating with carriers, preparing shipping documentation, and maintaining the integrity of our logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure proper labeling of all packages.
- Verify that all orders are packed according to company standards.
- Schedule pickups and coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update shipment statuses in the system.
- Conduct final quality checks before packages leave the facility.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized shipping area, following all safety protocols.
- Proper use of PPE is required at all times.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customer service.
Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills. Must be able to perform tasks requiring some lifting, up to 40 pounds. A strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency is essential. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
