We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in San Jose, California. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and verifying shipment contents. A meticulous approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to Safety are essential. We provide a professional work environment and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify that outgoing shipments match order details and quality standards.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging before dispatch.
- Maintain organized records of all outgoing shipments.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Assist with inventory management and stock checks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and maintain a safe working area.
- Support overall logistics efficiency and accuracy.
- Be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs to assist with package handling.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of logistics and shipping processes.
- Commitment to Safety and the use of required PPE.
