Join our team as a Forklift Operator in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois! We are looking for a dependable and experienced individual to manage the safe and efficient movement of materials within our extensive warehouse. This role is integral to our Logistics network, ensuring that products are handled properly from receiving to dispatch. You will operate various types of forklifts and material handling equipment, maintaining a keen awareness of your surroundings and adhering strictly to Safety protocols. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times. The position involves significant physical activity, including regular Lifting and maneuvering of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, stack, and unstack products.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of equipment, reporting any defects or safety issues.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate and secure placement of goods.
- Transport inventory to and from designated warehouse locations, supporting Logistics flow.
- Assist with inventory control measures, such as cycle counting and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, free from obstructions.
- Follow all established Safety rules and regulations, including the consistent use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to meet operational goals.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.
- Perform tasks requiring manual Lifting and maneuvering of items as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator, with at least 2 years in a warehouse environment.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to operate multiple types of forklifts.
- Physically capable of performing tasks involving Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of Logistics operations and inventory management.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and situational awareness.
- Ability to work flexible shifts if required.
- Commitment to wearing all mandated PPE.
