Our thriving logistics center in Detroit, Michigan, needs a dedicated Picker/Packer to ensure our customers receive their orders promptly and accurately. This role is fundamental to our distribution process. You will be responsible for accurately locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves and meticulously preparing them for shipment. Key aspects of this job include attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. We are committed to providing a safe work environment, and all team members are required to follow strict safety guidelines, including the use of appropriate PPE. This position involves significant physical activity, such as standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 45 lbs. Responsibilities:
- Pick items from designated warehouse locations using pick lists or handheld scanners.
- Verify product identification and quantities against order requirements.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, using appropriate packaging materials.
- Apply shipping labels accurately to all packages.
- Conduct quality checks on picked and packed items.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and contribute to overall warehouse tidiness.
- Strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Operate manual and powered equipment safely as needed.
- Meet or exceed productivity targets for picking and packing.
- Participate in inventory control tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or fulfillment role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Physical capacity to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 45 lbs repetitively.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment, both independently and as part of a team.
