We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks will be key to maintaining the smooth flow of goods from our facility to our customers. This position is integral to our supply chain operations, and we value a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify shipment details against orders and packing lists.
- Prepare shipping labels and necessary documentation for all outgoing packages.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Load and unload shipments as needed, ensuring safe handling practices.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales, pallet jacks, and potentially forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate with warehouse staff and customer service regarding shipment status.
- This role may involve some Lifting of packages up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse role is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving Lifting.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Good communication skills.
