We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our state-of-the-art distribution center in Cincinnati, Ohio. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility. This includes receiving, storing, staging, and shipping various goods. Your role is central to the smooth operation of our logistics network, ensuring that materials are in the right place at the right time. We pride ourselves on maintaining a secure and organized warehouse, and your contribution will be key to upholding these standards. The Material Handler position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. You will be expected to operate various pieces of material handling equipment (training available) and adhere to strict safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders.
- Transport materials to designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
- Load and unload trucks for outgoing shipments.
- Accurately record material movements and update inventory systems.
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment before use.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Support other warehouse operations as needed to ensure overall logistics efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring frequent lifting of up to 50-75 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong understanding of material handling equipment and techniques.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals.
- Reliable attendance and a commitment to teamwork.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
- A proactive approach to safety in all logistics activities.
