We are looking for a precise and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Boise, Idaho. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the efficient processing, documentation, and dispatch of all outgoing shipments. This role is vital to ensuring our products reach our customers on time and in perfect condition, contributing directly to our company's reputation and operational success. You will work in coordination with warehouse and logistics staff to streamline shipping procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing shipping documents, including labels, bills of lading, and customs forms.
- Coordinating with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verifying that all outgoing shipments accurately match customer orders.
- Ensuring packages are correctly addressed, labeled, and secured for safe transport.
- Maintaining accurate records of all shipments processed.
- Communicating shipment status and tracking information to relevant parties.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring safe material handling practices.
- Monitoring inventory of shipping supplies and requesting replenishment as needed.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our outbound logistics operations.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with various shipping software and carrier systems is highly advantageous. While physical lifting may be required occasionally, the primary focus is on administrative accuracy and coordination. Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role within logistics or a distribution environment.
- Proficiency with shipping software (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager) and carrier portals.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and order verification.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and the mandatory use of PPE.
