Join Our Team as a Tutor at Polaris Children's Services - Redstone Hall School!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? At Polaris Children's Services, we are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs. Our new school in Ipswich is looking for a Tutor to join our vibrant team starting in January 2026 .

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and learning readiness of our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the improvement of well-being, resilience, and behavior management.
  • Collaborating with the Education team to remove barriers to learning.
  • Promoting positive learning behaviors among students.
  • Leading classes during PPA and absence cover, with planning support from teaching staff.
  • Delivering engaging enrichment activities.
  • Assisting in lessons to support academic understanding and emotional needs.
  • Responding to immediate concerns and clarifying situations.
  • Creating and collating information related to lessons and interventions.
  • Advocating for the ethos of Redstone Hall School.
  • Leading on Reading and Phonics, reviewing student progress.
  • Developing the role of Pupil Voice and liaising with SLT about the Pupil Council.
  • Building relationships with parents/carers and actively participating in transitions.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A strong educational background, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role (e.g., HLTA).
  • Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities in areas like Food Hygiene, Forest School, or School Yoga.
  • Experience in behavior management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
