We are looking for a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is central to our fulfillment process, ensuring orders are accurately picked and prepared for shipment to our valued customers. As a Picker/Packer, you will navigate the warehouse, identify products based on order specifications, and meticulously pick items from designated locations. Following the picking process, you will skillfully pack these items, ensuring they are protected for their journey. Accuracy and efficiency are key performance indicators for this position. We are committed to fostering a safe work environment, which includes providing and mandating the use of appropriate PPE for all tasks. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks such as bending, squatting, and reaching throughout your shift. A strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and a commitment to best practices in logistics are essential. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves and storage locations according to order sheets or system guidance.
- Verify the identity and quantity of picked items to ensure order accuracy.
- Carefully package products using appropriate materials to prevent damage during shipping.
- Label all outgoing packages accurately for carrier pickup.
- Perform quality control checks on packed orders before dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse standards.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct usage of required PPE.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Meet established productivity and quality standards for picking and packing tasks.
- Support inventory control activities, including cycle counts and stock checks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order fulfillment, or similar role is a plus.
- Ability to interpret order tickets and follow instructions precisely.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs and perform standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Commitment to workplace safety and correct use of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail to minimize errors in picking and packing.
- Basic understanding of logistics and warehouse operations.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
