Join our logistics team in Indianapolis, Indiana, as a Shipping Clerk! We are seeking a meticulous and organized individual to manage the outbound shipping process. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier requirements. Your duties will include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining shipping records. This position is critical to our supply chain, ensuring that products leave our facility in a timely and organized manner. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to accuracy are essential. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing domestic and international shipments.
- Generate shipping labels and ensure accurate documentation (e.g., bills of lading, customs forms).
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight carriers) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify shipment contents against order details to ensure accuracy before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate and organized shipping records and logs.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., warehouse, customer service) regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to assist with occasional lifting up to 30 lbs if needed.
- Contribute to process improvements within the shipping and logistics functions.
