We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist for our Baltimore, Maryland facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will implement and oversee inventory control procedures, conduct regular cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure optimal stock levels. This position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management systems. You will play a critical role in minimizing inventory loss, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the overall supply chain. Compliance with all safety regulations, including the appropriate use of PPE, is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective inventory control procedures and policies.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock for operational needs, preventing stockouts and overstocking.
- Manage and maintain inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend improvements.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process to ensure accurate inventory recording.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve inventory-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Provide training to staff on inventory control best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks that may involve occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of warehouse logistics and inventory management.
