Join our thriving logistics team as a Forklift Operator in Richmond, Virginia! This position is vital for moving materials efficiently and safely within our warehouse. You will operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The ideal candidate possesses a strong commitment to safety, excellent operational skills, and experience in a busy warehouse environment. We are looking for reliable individuals who can contribute to our high standards of performance and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport goods within the facility.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently, ensuring all items are secure.
- Accurately place and retrieve materials from designated storage locations.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Support shipping and receiving operations as needed.
- Accurate and timely recording of material movements.
- Understand and adhere to all logistics best practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification or license is mandatory.
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Must wear required PPE at all times to ensure personal safety.
