We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is critical in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to minimize shrinkage and improve overall inventory efficiency. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to upholding high standards of data accuracy. You will work closely with the warehouse management and operational staff to ensure seamless integration of inventory data with our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and report findings.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure proper documentation and tracking of goods.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable with regular lifting up to 30 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a warehouse setting is essential.
