We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our bustling warehouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position is integral to our logistics and material handling operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods within our facility. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts to transport, load, unload, and stack materials. Your duties will include moving raw materials, finished goods, and inventory between different areas of the warehouse, such as receiving, storage, and shipping docks. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment, as well as performing pre-operational checks on forklifts, is a key part of the role to ensure optimal performance and safety. We place the highest priority on safety. All forklift operators must adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Certification and ongoing training in forklift operation and warehouse safety will be provided. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment. Prior experience operating forklifts is essential. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport goods and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Stack and retrieve inventory from high shelves.
- Perform daily pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations.
- Use required PPE consistently.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Follow instructions from supervisors regarding material handling tasks.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
