We are seeking a motivated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials, load and unload trucks, and maintain inventory accuracy within our warehouse. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. Your primary focus will be on supporting the overall efficiency of our distribution center through skilled forklift operation. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all team members to adhere strictly to safety protocols. Experience with various types of forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up models, is highly desirable. You will be expected to perform pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Strong attention to detail is necessary for inventory management and preventing damage to goods. This position involves regular lifting of up to 50 lbs and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Adherence to all PPE requirements is mandatory. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other warehouse staff are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack palletized materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers according to established procedures.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the warehouse management system.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
- Follow all PPE guidelines, including wearing safety shoes, vests, and eye protection.
- Handle products with care to prevent damage.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to achieve operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification (if required by local regulations).
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
