We are seeking a dedicated Distribution Center Associate for our facility in Washington, D.C. This role is fundamental to our operations, involving a wide range of tasks within the warehouse, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of goods through the facility, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics network. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and expect all associates to prioritize Safety in every task they perform. This position requires physical stamina for regular Lifting and the ability to operate various warehouse equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. The consistent use of appropriate PPE is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against orders.
- Stock merchandise accurately into designated storage areas.
- Pick and pack orders with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare shipments for dispatch, including labeling and staging.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all Safety regulations.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially concerning Safety and the use of PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong commitment to workplace Safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Flexible availability, including potential overtime or weekend shifts.
