We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in Grand Rapids, Michigan! In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of all outbound shipments. Your duties will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, tracking packages, and verifying outgoing orders. You’ll be the point person for getting products out the door correctly and on time, playing a vital part in our logistics chain. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Maintaining a safe workplace is paramount, and you will be expected to follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While the role is primarily administrative, some physical activity may be involved.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and manage shipping labels, manifests, and bills of lading.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates on delivery status.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment to prevent errors.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Maintain accurate and organized shipping records.
- Operate shipping software and relevant equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Address and resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar shipping/logistics administrative role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and basic computer applications.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Understanding of general logistics and shipping procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following safety guidelines.
- Willingness to use required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
