A vital opportunity awaits a skilled Forklift Operator in Detroit, Michigan! We are looking for an experienced individual to manage the movement of materials within our busy distribution center. This role is essential for the efficient operation of our logistics network. Your primary duties will include operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory between different areas, and assist with stock rotation. Maintaining a safe working environment is our top priority, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the use of required PPE , is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting. Responsibilities also include performing routine checks on forklift equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition and reporting any maintenance needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trailers and containers efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Use and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
- Support the broader warehouse and logistics team with other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift certification or license.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety .
- Ability to perform physical tasks including significant Lifting .
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in wearing and utilizing required PPE .
