Join our thriving logistics team in Washington, D.C. as a Forklift Operator! We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of goods within our warehouse. Your primary responsibility will be to operate forklifts and other powered equipment to move, load, unload, and stack materials. A strong commitment to safety, adherence to operational procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment are essential. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (counterbalance, reach trucks, etc.) to move pallets, merchandise, and materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight efficiently.
- Stack and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Perform routine pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways and unobstructed access.
- Support other warehouse functions, such as picking, packing, and shipping, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform other physical tasks as required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliability and punctuality are a must.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must comply with all safety standards and wear required PPE at all times.
