Our **logistics** facility in Detroit, Michigan, is seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise safely and efficiently. You will ensure that inventory is handled correctly, contributing to the overall efficiency of our warehouse operations. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all **Safety** regulations and protocols. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent spatial awareness, and a commitment to operational excellence. You will work closely with other warehouse associates to ensure seamless operations and meet productivity goals.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and unstack pallets and merchandise.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and location verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and loading docks are clear.
- Follow all **Safety** procedures and wear required **PPE**, including **PPE** such as hard hats and safety vests when necessary.
- Adhere to **logistics** operational standards and **Safety** guidelines.
- Assist other warehouse personnel with tasks as needed.
- Manage the **Lifting** and placement of various materials with precision.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **Lifting** up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse **Safety** practices and procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with **logistics** workflow.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts if required.
- Commitment to wearing all necessary **PPE**.
