We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator for our Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the facility. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of inventory and supporting order fulfillment processes. You will conduct daily inspections of your forklift to ensure it is in safe working order and maintain a clean and organized work area. A strong commitment to Safety is essential, including strict adherence to all Safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to perform moderate Lifting when necessary. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Stack and arrange inventory in designated storage areas.
- Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report any defects.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Follow all Safety procedures and guidelines.
- Wear all required PPE at all times while operating equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and location verification.
- Respond promptly to material handling requests from supervisors.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse Safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to proper use of PPE.
