Job Title: Psychiatrist – Region 1 Location: Toledo, OH (ZIP 43414) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (may flex as needed) Hours per Week: 40 Duration: Minimum of 6 months Education Requirement: Doctoral Degree (MD or DO)
Position Summary The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The role includes medication management, psychotherapy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and oversight of clinical care standards. This position may involve work with forensic populations and requires adherence to facility policies and security protocols. Essential Job Duties •
Conducts psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses mental health conditions, and develops treatment plans. •
Provides medication management and performs psychotherapy/counseling interventions (e.g., psychoanalysis, behavioral therapies). •
Monitors and coordinates activities of medical, nursing, and direct-care staff related to psychiatric services. •
Reviews clinical documentation for completeness and accuracy; recommends improvements in clinical processes and staffing. •
Participates in or conducts lectures, training, and seminars for healthcare staff in psychiatry and related fields.
Minimum Qualifications •
Valid license to practice medicine in the State of Ohio (per ORC 4731.13). •
Completed accredited residency training in psychiatry OR recognized as a psychiatrist per Ohio standards with 5+ years of psychiatric practice experience. •
DEA certification appropriate for medical practice in Ohio.
