Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? LCS is on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work full-time, with a flexible schedule that includes 35 hours per week plus sleep-in shifts.
About the RoleAs a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition towards independence. Your work will involve:
- Engaging, motivating, and encouraging young people in their individual flats or shared houses.
- Providing practical support and guidance in line with their care plans to develop essential life skills.
- Maintaining positive relationships with young people, staff, and professionals through effective communication.
- Supporting young people in Education, Employment, and Training, ensuring they achieve their accredited learning qualifications.
- Building community links with educational provisions, sports centers, and youth clubs.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- Flexibility in your availability for shift work, including sleep-in nights, evenings, and weekends.
- A Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma , Children and Young People's Workforce , or NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or be willing to study towards this).
- Experience working with attachment and trauma, as well as challenging behavior and mental health issues (desirable).
- An understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
- A full driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable), though good public transport links are available.
- Intermediate computer skills.
This role involves working on a rota basis, which may include evenings and weekends. Your flexibility is key to providing the best support for our young people.

Salary: Starting at £22,367.80, with potential earnings up to £27,983.80 including sleep-in shifts.
