Material Handler – Finishing Department (Part‑Time)

Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Department: Finishing

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Material Handler to join our Finishing Department. This part‑time position plays a key role in supporting bindery, mailing, and finishing operations. The ideal candidate is someone who works well in a fast‑paced production environment, follows instructions carefully, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Hand‑insert product into publications.

• Manually count inserts, newspapers, and related printed materials.

• Verify publication details (name, date, covers, inserts, signatures) against job jackets for accuracy.

• Jog materials and load pockets of insertion and bindery machines.

• Receive printed product from stacker, jog into neat bundles, tie if needed, and load onto pallets at production speed.

• Wrap and band skids of product as required.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including machine cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.

• Assist and take direction from the Manager, Shift Supervisor, and Machine Operators; remain in assigned area unless excused.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift bundles/materials as required.

• Ability to maintain pace with production machinery.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow safety protocols.

• Team‑oriented attitude with reliable attendance.
