Packaging Operator

Job Description

Theodore, AL:  Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a skilled Packaging Operator to support efficient packaging operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring products are accurately packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment in accordance with quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties

• Operate and monitor packaging equipment, including fillers, sealers, labelers, and conveyors to ensure efficient performance
• Package finished products into appropriate containers (bags, boxes, drums, etc.) according to specifications and work orders
• Inspect packaged products for quality, including proper sealing, accurate labeling, and container integrity
• Ensure all labeling is accurate, including lot numbers, product codes, and required compliance information
• Maintain accurate production and packaging records, including quantities and any discrepancies
• Perform routine equipment maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments
• Follow all safety procedures and properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment
• Collaborate with production team members to coordinate schedules and resolve operational issues
• Assist with additional production tasks, including material handling and quality checks as needed
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Requirements / Skills

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience operating packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are a plus
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
• Forklift certification is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
• Capable of working in environments with dust, noise, and varying temperatures
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed to support 24/7 operations
