À propos
Position Overview
ICS is a small, fast-moving company that designs, builds, and operates real networks—not just diagrams. The Network Engineer will be part of a tight-knit engineering team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and expanding the ICS network. This role is hands-on and requires someone who can think through problems, take ownership, and follow tasks through to completion.
The right candidate is comfortable working independently, while also understanding that engineering at ICS is a team effort. If there’s an outage, responsibility falls on engineering. Our engineers are counted on to take charge, communicate clearly, delegate, and stay involved until the issue is fully resolved.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Monitor and maintain the ICS production network to ensure stability and uptime.
* Configure, implement, and verify new services and network deployments.
* Troubleshoot routing, switching, and connectivity issues across a multi-vendor environment.
* Participate in an escalated on-call rotation to help resolve outages and customer-impacting issues.
* Document network configurations, standards, and procedures so work can be repeated and supported by others.
* Assist with testing new hardware, software, and design approaches to improve ICS services.
* Work with upstream providers and peers, including maintaining eBGP sessions and routing policies.
* Provide remote support to internal teams, contractors, and vendors when needed.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong understanding of core networking concepts and the OSI model.
* Practical experience with dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
* Ability to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches in real-world environments.
* Ability to reason through packet flow and protocol behavior to identify root causes.
* Clear communication skills and the ability to document work effectively.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
* Comfortable working in a small company where initiative and ownership matter.
