Works with the Business Unit to establish connectivity with Type II providers as needed.Performs capacity checks of existing network to determine availability of bandwidth and/or ports on required equipment.Provides assistance, as needed, to local technical personnel in determining fiber build costs (OSP & ISP)Works in conjunction with the Sales and CRAN Engineering team to determine the possible need for active transport costs.Receives fiber build costs, distances, necessary wavelengths and possible active transport costs from the Sales Engineering team and verifies information for accuracy and capabilities (i.e. 10Gb over CWDM or distances greater than 80Km).Develops a graphical design for the customer’s network using the information provided by the Sales Engineering team while strictly adhering to Client and MEF standards.Creates a BoM which accounts for all equipment necessary to activate service for the customerSome travel may be required Required Skills and Abilities:Metro Ethernet network knowledgeKnowledge of CWDM/DWDM conceptsKnowledge of optical and electrical hardware used for Layer 1 connectivityKnowledge of IP servicesExperience in documenting designs on Microsoft VisioMicrosoft Office suiteDesired Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of MEF standardsKnowledge of Layer 2/3 switching/routing protocolsSONET/ATM network knowledgeWork Experience/Education/Certification3-5 years directly related engineering experienceCollege Degree in Engineering or relevant work experienceCertifications as required.Additional InformationIf you are interested, please contact:Sophia973-507-7563SummaryType: ContractFunction: EngineeringExperience level: ExecutiveIndustry: Information Technology And Services
