Job Description
We are currently seeking an Engineering Student (Co-op position) to join our team in Calgary, Alberta.
The Project Engineering Co-Op will work with their assigned manager to meet strategic corporate initiatives and executes successful capital projects.
This posting is for a 12 month duration beginning in May 2026. Please only apply if this aligns with your availability.
When You Join Us You Will:
Provide involvement and support in promoting safety in an industrial environment through the utilization of engineering and scientific controls
Assist the assigned manager with project management, including tendering, negotiating, planning, installation, supervision of projects, commissioning and project closeout as needed.
Support the design and installation of short term continuous improvement projects
Become familiar with environmental, operational, and safety codes and compliance and ensure best practices are implemented as required
Become familiar with continuous and batching manufacturing processes.
Help sustain 5S program.
Perform safety audits and hazard inspections.
Creating and Updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other training documentation.
Collection of data for site environmental projects and studies.
Support Plant Engineering project execution by tracking schedules, actions, risks, and budgets across multiple small projects
Assist with on-site coordination and documentation during contractor work (progress photos, field notes, punch list, closeout packages)
Draft weekly project status updates and prepare meeting minutes/action items to maintain accountability
Develop and maintain SOPs, templates, and standard checklists that improve repeatability and reduce rework
Other duties as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate Would Be:
Current Student or recent graduate from a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functionality), Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint
Experience with AuotCAD
PMP Certificate is an asset
Able to read and interpret drawings
Ability to accurately compile and disseminate data
Strong critical thinking, organizational, and time management skills
Proven ability to prioritize tasks and function efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Project management experience is considered an asset
Committed to the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM
Hours of Work
$22/hour - $25/hour
