Collaborating Supervising Physician

Job Description

Optimize Medical Weight Loss & Wellness is seeking a licensed physician to serve as a collaborating/supervising physician for our nurse practitioner/physician assistant led clinic. This is a flexible, low-time-commitment opportunity ideal for a physician interested in supporting a growing wellness and weight loss practice.

Position Overview

The collaborating physician will provide oversight in accordance with Alabama state regulations and support clinical operations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide physician collaboration/supervision per Alabama Board requirements
• Be available for consultation (as needed, not daily)
• Review and sign collaborative practice agreements and protocols
• Participate in periodic chart reviews (if required)
• Support safe, evidence-based patient care

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in Alabama
• Board-certified or board-eligible (preferred)
• Experience in primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or wellness/weight loss (preferred)
• Willingness to collaborate with nurse practitioner-led practice

Schedule & Commitment

• Flexible, remote position
• Minimal time commitment (typically a few hours per month)

Compensation

• Competitive monthly stipend (based on experience and involvement)
