Introduction to role

Join AstraZeneca as a Business Analyst and be part of our journey to redefine the R&D Patient Safety value stream. We are investing in IT Platform Capabilities to improve our ability to deliver life-changing medicines. As a Business Analyst, you will focus on tools such as Argus, Signal Management System, and digital ECG solutions, ensuring that our solutions meet AstraZeneca's quality and compliance standards. You will collaborate with platform team members, business product owners, and SMEs to develop solutions that drive business change and innovation.

Accountabilities

  • Business Needs Identification: Assess and define business needs, seeking opportunities for improvement aligned with strategic goals.
  • Business Analysis Planning: Select appropriate analysis approaches, plan and handle activities to meet work.
  • Collaborator Analysis & Change: Identify collaborators, establish relationships, and give to communication plans.
  • Requirements Analysis and Build Definition: Manage requirements, support functional and technical requirement identification, and ensure technical solutions deliver agreed business benefits.
  • Argument and Benefits Management: Support argument definition, assembling value and benefits realization.
  • Solution Evaluation: Analyze solution proposals, assess business readiness, and improve value vs. spend.

Work closely with:

  • Business Partners and Analysts to support business process change.
  • Business SMEs to identify requirements and facilitate User Acceptance Testing.
  • Product Owners/Managers to devise solutions optimizing business performance.
  • IT Platform Managers/Leads and team members to ensure effective testing and solution delivery.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Prior experience of performing a similar role in the R&D patient safety space.
  • Experience and functional understanding of registration, tracking, document management and publishing.
  • Experience of using business analysis tools/techniques to build and deliver business change.
  • Exposure to Agile Methodology and JIRA.
  • Strong engagement, communication and facilitation skills, including presentation and influencing skills.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment.
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers/vendors.
  • Business insight, negotiation and influencing capabilities.
  • Presentation, Networking, Communication & Facilitation.
  • Customer Focus and Collaborator Management.
  • Business Process and Requirements Management.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Degree in relevant team or formal certification in business analysis practice.
  • Experience of working in a global organisation.
  • Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge.
  • User Centric Build (User Experience, User Interface Design and Business Process Design).
