Chief Engineer (backshift)

This exciting project involves designing and constructing a state-of-the-art 15GWh lithium-ion battery facility, along with ancillary buildings and site-wide external works.

This is a backshift position, where you’ll work from late afternoon into the evening, Monday to Friday. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Lead a dynamic team of engineers, works staff, and subcontractors to deliver projects with the utmost safety and performance standards.
• Ensure technical compliance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Monitor project progress and assess potential risks and opportunities daily across design, procurement, and construction activities.
• Develop and implement Temporary Works proposals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the client team.

We’re looking for someone who embodies strong leadership and collaboration. Here’s what you should bring:

• Proven leadership skills with a collaborative spirit.
• Experience in delivering multi-million-pound nuclear projects or similar regulated environments.
• Expertise in reinforced concrete construction.
• Solid knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant regulations and quality standards.
