Global CTI Group is a leading California-based technology solutions provider serving public sector and enterprise organizations for over 20 years. We are looking for a Senior Technician / Engineer to join our technical delivery team — someone who is equally comfortable configuring a UCaaS phone system, managing a Microsoft Server environment, deploying Aruba network infrastructure, and talking directly with a customer's IT director about what went wrong and how it will be fixed.
*Overview*
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role at the intersection of voice communications, networking, and IT infrastructure. You will work directly alongside our Technical Lead, delivering enterprise-grade solutions across our customer base of K-12 school districts, community colleges, municipalities, and commercial organizations throughout California.

*What You Will Do:*
*UCaaS & Voice Communications*
* Design, configure, and deploy cloud-based phone systems including Zoom Phone, Microsoft Teams Voice, and RingCentral
* Perform migrations from legacy PBX and Mitel/ShoreTel environments to cloud UCaaS platforms
* Configure SIP trunks, SBCs (Session Border Controllers), dial plans, call flows, and hunt groups
* Deploy and support hybrid voice environments — on-premise survivability, E911 compliance, and multi-site configurations
* Troubleshoot UCaaS call quality issues, network-related voice problems, and integration failures
* Support contact center platforms and omnichannel communication integrations
* Conduct customer site assessments and network readiness evaluations prior to UCaaS deployment
*Microsoft Server & Infrastructure*
* Deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022)
* Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related core infrastructure services
* Support Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD
* Perform server migrations, upgrades, and consolidations for customer environments
* Configure and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
* Support virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
* Assist with cybersecurity posture — endpoint protection, patch management, and security hardening — in coordination with our Cybersecurity Practice Lead
*Aruba Networking & Infrastructure*
* Design and deploy Aruba wired and wireless network infrastructure across enterprise and campus environments
* Configure Aruba switches, access points, and controllers — including Aruba Central cloud management
* Implement network segmentation, VLANs, QoS, and security policies optimized for voice and data traffic
* Perform wireless site surveys, RF planning, and post-deployment validation
* Troubleshoot network performance issues affecting UCaaS call quality, application performance, and connectivity
* Assist with SD-WAN deployments and WAN optimization for multi-site customers
*Customer Engagement & Project Delivery*
* Work directly with customer IT teams, IT directors, and end users throughout the delivery process
* Lead technical discovery conversations to understand customer environments, requirements, and constraints
* Produce clear, accurate technical documentation — network diagrams, as-built documents, configuration records
* Deliver customer training and knowledge transfer following system deployment
* Support the Sales Engineering function on complex pre-sales technical questions and site assessments
* Collaborate with the Professional Services team on project scheduling and delivery
* Participate in post-installation support escalations, alongside our team for customers with ongoing support agreements
*Required Qualifications*
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT or technology services delivery
* Demonstrated technical experience with Microsoft Server environments (Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, M365, Azure AD)
* Hands-on experience deploying and supporting UCaaS platforms — Zoom Phone, Microsoft Teams Voice, or RingCentral
* Working experience with Aruba wired or wireless network infrastructure
* Strong verbal and written communication skills — ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
* Experience working in a customer-facing role — comfortable leading technical conversations directly with IT directors and end users
* Ability to manage multiple projects and customer issues simultaneously without losing track of detail or urgency
* Valid California driver's license — this role requires regular travel to customer sites
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Experience with SIP trunking, SBCs, and hybrid voice/PBX environments (Mitel, ShoreTel, Cisco)
* Aruba certifications — ACSA (Aruba Certified Switching Associate), ACWA (Aruba Certified Wireless Associate), or higher
* Microsoft certifications — AZ-900, MD-102, MS-102, or equivalent
* Experience with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization
* Exposure to cybersecurity tools — endpoint protection, EDR platforms, or security hardening
* Experience serving K-12, higher education, or government/municipality customers
* ConnectWise or similar PSA/ticketing platform experience
* Experience with physical security or campus safety systems (Verkada, ACTIVATE/Singlewire) is a plus but not required

Pay: $38.00 - $50.00 per hour
