Dalaco, a leading and trusted supplier of top-quality concrete construction supplies in Waukon, IA, is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Inside Sales Representative to join our growing locally-owned and operated business. Since 1999, Dalaco has been the go-to resource for everything from poured walls to decorative concrete, rebar, and a wide range of rental tools and equipment, serving a 200-mile radius.

About the Role:
As an Inside Sales Representative at Dalaco, you'll be a key player in driving our business forward by connecting with customers and prospects, understanding their needs, and providing solutions for their concrete construction projects. This isn't just a desk job – it's a dynamic role where you'll combine strong sales skills with hands-on operational support. You'll primarily engage clients via phone, email, and online channels, but also be ready to jump in and assist with the physical flow of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement & Sales:
- Respond to incoming phone, email, and web inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Proactively identify and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound calls, research, and follow-up on leads generated by marketing and promotions.
- Understand customer requirements and effectively present Dalaco's wide range of concrete construction supplies, rebar (custom cutting and bending available), forms, tools, and rental equipment.
- Prepare and send proposals, quotes, and contracts to clients.
- Negotiate pricing and terms to close deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting company goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and sales data in our CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with the outside sales team and other internal departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Provide feedback to management on market trends, customer insights, and sales tactics.
- Stay informed about Dalaco's products, services, and industry updates.
- Efficiently assist walk-in customers with their product needs, offering expert advice and processing orders.
- Operational & Hands-On Support:
- Be a true "jack of all trades" – actively participate in the loading and unloading of materials.
- Accurately pull inventory for customer orders and efficiently stock shelves.
- Meticulously stage loads for outgoing deliveries, ensuring accuracy and readiness for our drivers. This will involve operating a forklift and other necessary equipment (prior experience preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate).
- On occasion, serve as a driver for smaller local deliveries or step in as a third driver to support our logistics team.
- Assist with rebar fabrication or other material preparation when needed, contributing directly to our product delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with diverse customers.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Results-driven with a self-motivated and goal-oriented mindset.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software (experience with Quickbooks Enterprise or similar is a plus).
- A positive "can-do" attitude and a desire to contribute to a collaborative team.
- Comfortable with and capable of performing physical tasks including lifting, loading, and operating equipment like a forklift (training provided if needed).
- Ability to coordinate logistics/deliveries to customers.
- Knowledge of the construction industry or concrete supplies is strongly encouraged or recommended, but we will train the right individual.
