Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available on a PCU/Stepdown Unit located in Westlake, OH. This 13-16 week contract position involves providing specialized nursing care to patients primarily with cardiac telemetry, vascular, and medical-surgical needs, including post-catheterization and post-pacemaker care. This role requires performing comprehensive assessments and coordinating care in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications safely, and serving as a key coordinator between the interdisciplinary care team and patients families. The RN will manage complex clinical needs such as multi-system organ failure, using clinical judgment to respond appropriately to rapidly changing patient conditions. Nurses must also verify telemetry strips each shift using the electronic health record system. Key Qualifications & Desired Experience: Current RN license in-state or covered by compact Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with acute care hospital experience preferred Dysrhythmia Exam certification required (study guide available) BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required Familiarity with critical care practices including hemodynamic monitoring, drips, trach care, and airway management Ability to assess and manage complex patient conditions including lines, drains, and respiratory devices Strong communication and clinical judgment skills in a fast-paced setting Location Overview:Westlake, OH, offers a welcoming community with a balance of suburban comfort and proximity to urban amenities.
