Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing essential nursing care in a rural Critical Access Hospital setting, this role involves delivering patient-centered support as a primary nurse on the Stepdown unit. The registered nurse will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care in a supportive and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver competent nursing care as the primary nurse in the Patient Care Unit. Monitor and assess patient conditions, intervening as necessary. Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Demonstrate proficiency in stepdown nursing protocols and critical care practices. Qualifications and Experience: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required. Unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain before starting. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be obtained upon hire). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Minimum of two years experience as a registered nurse. Physical capability to work safely at high altitude (approximately 8,000 feet). Location and Housing:This position is based in the scenic mountain town of Aspen, Colorado, known for its breathtaking landscapes and outdoor recreational opportunities. While Aspen offers a high quality of life, housing costs can be considerable, particularly in winter. Many healthcare professionals choose nearby towns such as Basalt, Carbondale, or Glenwood Springs for more affordable accommodation options. Typical rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Basalt is around $3,500 per month. Candidates should plan accordingly, as housing arrangements are self-managed.
