Provide essential nursing care as a Registered Nurse within the Stepdown unit at a critical access hospital located in Basalt, CO. This role requires collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care in a rural healthcare setting. The position is offered on a contract basis. Location Overview: Basalt, Colorado, is nestled in the scenic Roaring Fork Valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains and outdoor recreational opportunities. Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required Unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado, or the ability to obtain before start date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; may be obtained upon hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required Minimum of 2 years nursing experience as an RN Responsibilities: Deliver competent, patient-centered nursing care as the primary nurse in the Stepdown unit Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team Function safely and efficiently in a high-elevation environment (8,000 feet) Adhere to hospital policies and maintain compliance with healthcare standards Additional Details: Contract position Travelers responsible for securing their own housing; typical rent for a one-bedroom apartment in Basalt is around $3,500/month, with options in surrounding towns recommended for budget-conscious candidates Not accepting return-to-office (RTO) requests Candidates must be physically able to work safely in low-oxygen conditions due to elevation This role is ideal for experienced RNs who thrive in a rural hospital setting and can provide stepdown nursing care with autonomy and professionalism.
